Living in New Mexico’s high desert, I’m constantly inspired by the succulents and cacti that are native here. This is a cane cholla cactus; they bloom around March-May, with beautiful pink flowers, and bright yellow fruit. When they die, they leave behind beautiful skeletons that can be seen throughout the foothills in Albuquerque, and beyond.
